Elder Brothers

Spending childhood with an elder brother is the best practice you can get to master the sport called life. – Unknown

“It seems to me we can never give up longing and wishing while we are still alive. There are certain things we feel to be beautiful and good, and we must hunger for them.” ― George Eliot

This quote from George Eliot just about perfectly sums up what I am about.  And I was looking in the wrong place.  Right here where God planted us, right here with these precious people… that is where I find what is good, and beautiful, and true.  Love, kindness, peace.  Beauty in the things of creation, beauty in the things that we create.  It is good.

“Why did you do all this for me?’ he asked. ‘I don’t deserve it. I’ve never done anything for you.’ ‘You have been my friend,’ replied Charlotte. ‘That in itself is a tremendous thing.” ― E.B. White, (Charlotte’s Web)

Friendship is a tremendous thing. I am grateful for the friends I have had.  And I am looking forward to the new ones I will make on both sides of Heaven.  Friends are such an enormous blessing from God.

Our family is growing again!  This time to include a new son.  Our oldest daughter is engaged to be married to a wonderful young man whom we have known for many years.  We are so blessed to be granted the grace of watching them plan a holy marriage together.  We hope that it will also be one blessed with strength and joy.
