Writer’s Guidelines
“Ordinary Time” is a book about Catholic home education. Our Catholic faith gives us so many opportunities to grow in grace. That is especially so for families who are called to educate their own children at home. Our faith is allowed to permeate all that we teach, and all that our children learn.
Home education is earthy; it is ordinary; it is ocassionally mundane. But sprinkled liberally throughout are rods of light - little triumphs, unexpected joys. And there are moments of sorrow, and frustration. All of those things make up the rich tapestry of ordinary life that our children are blessed to experience more deeply by being at home.
It is very much like our liturgical year, mostly earthy and ordinary, punctuated with feasts and periods of fasting. All of it makes up the beautiful rhythm of life in our Church.

City/State/Province/County and Countr (if outside the US)
Home Parish

Be sure to include your address and telephone number so that we can communicate with you about your entry.
You may include a copy of your record-keeping materials. This can be a very helpful visual for readers. You will also be asked to include photographs of each of your family members, your parish church (exterior), and photographs depicting where you live. We will need a minimum of 10 photos from each contributor for a very special cover art project.
This book will be marketed to mainly new homeschoolers through homeschooling groups and parishes (mainly Catholic). Ideally, I would like a representative family from each of the 50 states and one from each of any countries outside the US. If you could also include a set of homeschooling regulations for your location, that would be enormously helpful.
I’m looking forward to your contributions, and please feel free to pass along this information through your fora, message boards, email lists, and local homeschooling groups.
Each contributor will receive a copy of “Ordinary Time”.
