Two weeks from today, we will be preparing to board a plane to meet our son and daughter.
I have no words for how excited I am. So much emotion is wound up in all of this. It is more than two decades since adoption was laid on our hearts. There have been so many failed attempts to adopt. And I remember the name of each child, I still pray for them, I wonder where they are and how they are doing. So many disappointments for us, but I hope many blessings for them. It’s so hard to believe that we have finally made it to this point in the process. This time every obstacle has fallen away as we’ve met it. We have had a mighty army of prayer warriors flanking us every step of the way.
We are amazed once again at God’s provision. His generosity can not be outdone.
If you look just over there on the sidebar, you will see the miracle we witnessed two days ago. I was out all day with the girlies, who had taken me out for a luncheon to celebrate my birthday. We didn’t settle in until evening. I checked on our FSP and was thrilled that someone had donated $10. Every donation is precious and it’s such fun to see the numbers changed. I was about to navigate away when I realized that something seemed out of place. I looked again at the total. I stared at it. It took so long for it to register. And then I was sure that something was wrong, and error. But no, someone had put several thousand dollars into our account. We have no idea who. Only the ladies at Reece’s Rainbow know.
Whoever you are, THANK YOU! Thank you for responding to His grace. Thank you for helping us to bring our son and daughter home.
I am making a Novena of Thanksgiving for the intentions of our donors – current and future.
O God, of whose mercies there is no number, and of whose goodness the treasure is infinite; we render thanks to Thy most gracious majesty for the gifts Thou hast bestowed upon us, evermore beseeching Thy clemency, that as Thou grantest the petitions of them that ask Thee, Thou wilt never forsake them, but wilt prepare them for the reward to come.
Because of this generous donation, all of our placement fees are now covered, as well as a significant portion of our travel fees. We are approximately $2500 from being able to cover all of our second trip – the one that brings them home with us.
We can close that gap to just a few hundred dollars if we have just 94 more donors for our swallows and forget-me-nots fundraiser. For everyone who will donate $25 through that fundraiser, we will send a bottle of our favourite Sancta essence of Chrism essential oil.
